PARAIBA & LARIMAR

A LOVE STORY

Who does not long for warmth, sun and sea? And dream of white sand, crystal clear surf and turquoise lagoons like in the Caribbean Sea?

Only one single gemstone captures this special atmosphere: the Paraiba Tourmaline.

At the end of the 1980s, tourmaline crystals were found in San José de Batalha, in the Brazilian federal state of Paraiba, which shimmered in such extraordinary sea colours as seen never before. The turquoise of the Paraibas is almost of electric, neon-like luminosity. Names such as ‚Neon Lagoon‘ or ‚Electric Blue‘ quickly established themselves as perfect statements for this light phenomenon - a new star was born in the gemstone sky.

An extra beautiful addition to the crystal-clear Paraiba Tourmalines is Larimar, a blue gemstone that only occurs on the south coast of the Caribbean island of Hispaniola. The cabochons to which Larimar is cut are interwoven with white lines that are reminiscent of light reflections on the surface of the water. To fuse these two gems in my jewellery is a love story of sun and sea, of Paraiba & Larimar.

Of all diamonds, only the whitest stones of the colour River-D are equal to the turquoise radiance of the Paraiba Tourmalines. Only this highest color quality I combined with Paraibas in my jewellery.
